Use Bold Alphebet Dies with ROSE Stamps (Altenew Post)

Hello friends!
Hope you are having a great day so far...
Today's my turn to share a project with you over Altenew Blog.
I really want to utilize the this Bold Alphabet Set.

Previously, I made celebratory banners with this great die set (see here) for my daughter's successful defense of her PhD thesis!
DSC_0002 (1) - Copy

This time I want to do something a little different.

(shop Altenew here , shop Simon Says Stamp here)

Enters this new Build-a Flower Rose set...

(shop Altenew here , shop Simon Says Stamp here)

and you put them together....
you get this.

I love creating fun and personalized sentiment. I though it would be cool to use the letter "U" and "R" and combine them with "simply amazing " from "More than Words"(shop Altenew, shop SSS).

So, how do you do this if you are wondering?

Here's the break-down of my creative process:

1. stamp the images (like you normally would). In this case, I stamped the rose and leaves.
2. plan out your placement of sentiment and spacing of the dies, line up the dies with a ruler (if necessary) . Use Washi tape to secure them.
3. die cut and punch out the image (don't freak out here!!). Die cut some more with white card stock/scrap pieces.
4. stack and adhere 3-4 pieces and position the dies back to where they were.
5. embellish.

Do you like the "hidden" letters?
Altenew File

It's simple yet impactful.
Hope this gives you some inspiration and that you find it helpful.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge #439

Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge !! Thank you for joining us for the "CAS" Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :-)

This week the challenge is...

"Pop It Up"

We are using "Lawn Fawn" products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some, we love to see them used :-)

For my project, I am using Fab Flowers Clear Stamp, Little Town Border Lawn Cut, Happy Birthday Border Lawn Cut, Everyday Pop-Up, and Gingham Backdrops Clear Stamp.

Obviously, to pop-up is made easy when using the Everyday Pop Up Die. There is nothing quite  like it. I inked up the houses with Distress Oxide.

I built up the height of the pop ups and then positioned the "hills" over it.

happy birthday to you

This pop-up card was entirely stamped. You can totally use pattern paper such as Perfectly Plaid.
And of course, I have to stamp the card front with Fab Flowers.

The details were added with some DMC Strings, a touch of Nuvo Drop (Carribean Gloss) and Pico Embellisher (White).

I hope that you are inspired to create something that POPS!

All the supplies I used are shown in the product photos and highlighted in text like this for your easy reference.

Mix It Up

Hello friends!
Thank you so much for sharing your enthusiasm and checking out my blog.
Today I have a fun and romantic card with assorted stamps and dies.

I started out with a piece of white card stock. The background images first dry-embossed with this gorgeous "Embossing Textured Plate" (currently out of stock). The textures are so fine that you can continue to do your stamping...and that's exactly what I did.
you got this-001

I don't think we stampers use enough geometric stamps as we tend to reach for something floral and something visually appealing. Geometric shapes can be hard to think?

Well, I challenge myself to use this new stamp set "Building Blocks"  by Altenew.
shop Altenew here, shop Simon Says Stamp here

The geometric background may look random, but they really are not.
My light bulb moment

Ding---> Create an "invisible frame" with masking paper/post-it note and stamp inside the borders. This is a good way to control the "chaotic" element. This will draw our eyes to the focal point (in my view).
you got this

Once I stamped the background, I stamped the small flowers and leaves. Then I stamped the sentiment with lightest grey to the darkest in Rock Collection(shop Altenew here, shop SSS here). By the way, GREY is in, if you don't own any good grey inks... Rock Collection is it!

you got this

And of course, it really doesn't hurt to add the Layering Flowers Dies such as Floral Fantasy
(shop Altenew here, shop SSS here) .

Lastly, I want to highlight this STAMPtember "You Got This" from Simon Says Stamp.
It has so many wonderful and uplifting message and is perfect for encouragement cards.

All the supplies I used are shown in the product photos and highlighted in text like this for your easy reference and shopping (affiliate links are applied whenever possible).

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Rose!

Hello friends!
The long wait is over...
Altenew has been coming up with Build-a Flower monthly sets and that time is here!

"This month, our Build-A-Flower series is honoring the rose! Roses are heart-stoppingly beautiful, and their aroma is equally show-stopping. With such an impressive presence, it is no wonder that roses have symbolized some powerful elements throughout human history. We tried to capture the timeless beauty of this flower by giving it extra depth with six layers. Achieve a realistic look with this Rose set which is a must-have for every flower lover!"

This set has it all--the etched details and excellent layering....
What more can one want?

I had a blast stamping with this Build-A-Flower: Rose !
Can you tell there are 6 layers!?
Altenew_BAF_Rose_Virginia #1

I followed the guides/instructions on the package and it really helped me to align the stamps.
Notice the dry-emboss details? I used the matching die along with Tan Embossing Mat.
This mat may not look like much, but when you do dry-embossing with it, the difference is HUGE.

Altenew_BAF_Rose_Virginia #2

Instead of stamping leaves in green, I decided to stamp them in grey with Rock Collection
(shop Altenew here, SSS here). I stamped the rose in Rose Dye Ink and Cherry Blossom.
For the small flowers, I colored them in Altenew Artist Markers

btw if you don't have any GREY ink in your collection, you MUST get
Rock Collection(shop Altenew here, SSS here).
GREY is also very trendy if you have not noticed lately.... 😊

Altenew_BAF_Rose_Virginia #3

For my 2nd card, I did some embossing with one of the sketchy stamp.
The Golden Peach Embossing Powder  (shop SSS) really enhances the overall design.

Altenew_BAF_Rose_Virginia #4

I stamped the yellow rose in Pocketful of Sunshine (shop Simon Says Stamp) and Warm and Cozy (shop SSS) Collection. The leaves were stamped in Seashore (shop SSS) Collection.

Altenew_BAF_Rose_Virginia #6

I also utilized Watercolor Stencil  (shop Simon Says Stamp)with the  Rock Collection to create stripes! Love love the gradient!

Halloween Card Kit "Creepy Cute" (Limited Edition)

Hello friends!
I am happy to share some CREEPY CUTE projects with you.
You see, Simon Says Stamp is releasing a s-BOO-tacular Halloween Card Kit today.
It is now available here.
Last year's Halloween Kit were sold out in a few HOURS....
If you want the kit, you have to act NOW (just a suggestion!!)--->click here.

Lucky for me... I got the chance to create a few projects with this kit.
First up, it is this super cute goodie box!
Trick or Treat #2 (V. Lu)

What a I love about this box is that it is all pre-scored and once you are ready to put it together, it is easy to fold and there is no fiddling involved!

Noticed the bow and  twines? I thought these two go really well together, so I created a bow with strings hanging down, much like a least that's what I was going for.

Trick or Treat #1 (V. Lu)

The decorating part was a cinch, even a small child I can do it! This kit comes with puffy stickers, labels and lots of fun images. There is no thinking required 😉!

I came up with two cards from this kit.
The stamp set Creepy Cute  is  just .... well, creepy cute.
you are creeepy cute (V. Lu)

This creepy cute card has some sequins inside the cat! The kit comes includes a stamp set and a cat die. It's puuuurfect to incorporate the shaker card element into it.

For the eek factor, I stamped the spider and added the pom pom like black strings. LOVE it!

My 2nd card is highlighting the WOW GLOW-IN-THE-DARK embossing powder! My mind was BLOWN when I heat-embossed the house image....because they did GLOW!
BOO! (V. Lu)

Seeing is believing---BOO! A pack of googly eyes are also included!

Halloween Cards

Hope you like my 3 projects from this awesome Halloween Kit.
Forgot to say...chocolates are NOT included.
I love my Lindor Chocolate. LOL
Halloween Kit

I highly recommend this to parents and kids...imagine all the fun when you use the kit together!!?

If you are interested in getting the Halloween Kit, please click here and act asap.

In this kit: Witch Cat Wafer Die, Creepy Cat Clear Stamp, Halloween Trimmings
and many many more.

Thank you for your feedback and ongoing support!

Enjoying "Heat Wave"!

Hello friends!
Today's post is about "HeatWave"
It's not the heat wave (weather -related) that I am talking about.

The "Heat Wave Pen Tool Started Kit" is a little nifty gadget that allows you to add foil to your project. This product was introduced in 2015. You can see the intro video here.

About this tool: Easily apply foil to cards, scrapbook pages, home decor projects, and more! Use the Heatwave Pen with stencils to apply foil designs or create your own. This precision foil applicator pen is battery powered so there’s no cord to tangle with and a protective storage lid is included. You can easily see the project you’re working on using the handy light guide. The starter kit includes a battery operated Heatwave Pen tool with a lid for safe storage and (20) 4 x 6 inch sheets of foil in pink, gold, blue, red and silver. You can buy the foil paper separately here.

This kit by We R Memory Keepers is $29.99. Remember a while ago, Simon Says Stamp has a few flash sales??? Well, this item was one of them and I got it for $9.99! What a steal! See, this is something that I watch out for when there is a good sale and forgive me for being an enabler!

I decided to try it out with the new STAMPtemebr Damask stencil.
Perhaps this is not the best stencil to try out with the new "Heat Wave Pen Tool"
because the stencil is so very fine and detailed. I could not get my gold foil lines quite perfectly.
However,  I think it turned out pretty nicely!

big thanks-002

This card is formal and straightforward.
First of all, I applied Distress Oxide over the stencil and once it's dried a bit, I started to trace the lines in between the STAMPtemebr Damask stencil.

big thanks-001

After all that, I STILL want to use the "Heat Wave Pen Tool Started Kit. So, I followed the Watercolor Stencil (Altenew, SSS). You now see those fine lines at the bottom of the cards.

big thanks

Since this post is about Damask...guess what!?
the latest STAMPtember Collaboration Exclusives (Pretty Pink Posh)
