Color-Laying with...Gold Fish!

Hello friends! 

I am popping in to share a color-layering card.

This fun Goldfish (Hero Arts) set is....well, truly fun to play with.

I used the sentiment from Simple Story collection and thought it is quite fitting.

I practiced and stamped a few before I made it to my good card stock.Trying out color combo and lining up stamps are the must-things for me before I actually stamp the images on paper. And of course, I had to use MISTI for all the precision stamping and it almost never fails.

Use an Intricate Die with Watercolors!

Hello friends!

It's time for me to play with the set of Kuretake Gansai Tambi 36 Color Set !
I know, water-coloring can be a little addictive! You can read my "reviews" on Kuretake if you miss it (see here).

 

 I love the ease of using watercolors in one box! The colors are as vibrant or soft as you want them to be....I paired it up with this intricate die "Pillow Box" from Penny Black.

This die is not cheap, but it comes with many dies. I have not even used the pillow box part, but instead, I tried out the ice cream cone....and wow!

Basically I created a watercolor background on the entire sheet of watercolor paper. Once it's dried, I made the die cut with Pinpoint Rectangles. For the ice cream die, I also colored it with Kuretake. And that's it!

Simon Says Stamp May 2016 Card Kit

Hello hello! 

I finally got my May Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp and cracked it open and PLAYED!

What can I tell ya, this kit is so cute and fun! 

 You can get your regular monthly subscription here.

It just makes you happy when you stare at the cute smiley faces with this "Happy Days" set. This kit also comes with a nifty Sakura Glue Roller Pen which I found super handy to use with the sequins! 

I adore the plaid pattern paper that comes in this kit and chose the brightest one to work with. I white-embossed the images and then colored on the back of vellum with Spectrum Aqua Markers. Those sequins are perfectly matched with the pattern paper. This card is easily one of the happiest cards I have ever made :) 

Of course, I have more versions from this card kit to come!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge #366

 

Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge !! Thank you for joining us for the Make it Girlie Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :-)

This week the challenge is...

Anything Goes

 We are using Stampendous products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some, we love to see them used :-) 

For my project, I used Queen Anne's Lace Cling Stamp. This stamp has some fine outline details. It is lovely to use.

I tried to stamp it as colorful as I can with the help of MISTI.

To accentuate the stamped images, I added a strip of glitter and some pattern paper. I also added torn paper for the extra interest and texture. 

After my first card (which is slightly more clean and simple), I decided to do another version. I gold-embossed the image and did watercoloring with Kuretake. 
 
Somehow it reminds me the Oriental/Japanese painting. I guess that you sometimes see the gold and subtle colors in the Japanese art and painting? 

Anyways, you can definitely see the possibilities with this stamp.
