Stamp a Motif (Part 2)

Hello friends!
I am popping in to share Part 2 of "Stamp a Motif".

 Hello Sunshine

Shop over Simon says Stamp here.

You can check out Part 1 Post if you miss seeing it.

Here is a photo of part 1.

With the exact same stamps positioned in place in in MISTI,  I stamped in Versamark and white-emboss the entire image in Bristol paper.

I worked on the piece by coloring with Gansai Tambi Watercolor and had a fun time coloring it.
Once dry, I fussy cut out the image. I was being careful and tried not to cut too closely to the image.

This is the result.

I used the colored piece and decorated a white gift bag (purchased from Dollar Store).
As you can tell, I used a complete opposite orientation from the card.

To compliment the design, I stamped more flowers and vines onto the gift bag.
I added some white strings and sequins for extra interest.

same motif, different orientation

I hope this inspire you to try out stamping motif with small-mid size stamps like Hello Sunshine.

Altenew Post---Hand-sitched with Love

Hello friends!
It's my turn to share projects with you over Altenew!

We all love handmade cards with unique touches. Altenew's color-layering stamps such as Hibiscus Bouquet are the obvious solutions! Even better, you can add some simple hand-stitching to your design for that special homespun feel! I just love how stitching can enhance the overall aesthetic aspect. A little hand-stitching goes a long way! I started out with gold-embossing Hibiscus Bouquet on the Pale Grey Card Stock.

  Altenew (hand-stiching)

Once the hibiscus images are embossed, I stamped the solid images with Warm & Cozy Oval Set/Mini Ink Cube Set and Rose Petal Oval Set/ Mini Ink Cube Set. For the leaves, I used Sea Shore Oval Set/ Mini Ink Cube Set

thank you #3

Sewing is not my forte, but I can sew a button! With a ruler, I paper-pierced the holes in a straight line and I carefully stitched it up with the DMC silver thread. I purposefully left the end to create a bit of flair. It is really fun to mix and match embossing with the color-layering stamps. The gold embossing gives the design a great depth and lovely interest. The inked flowers seem to pop even more that way! Stitching may not be just for embellishment or accents only. It can be the STAR of the show!

I stamped the image from Sew Very Happy with a light ink and hand-stitched the stamped lines. The sentiment is from "Adore You". Even though it took me some time to do the stitching, I find the result to be very satisfying. Stitching in front of TV is actually very therapeutic and relaxing.

This CAS design can also work beautifully as wedding, congratulations, anniversary ...and birthday cards. I hope you are inspired to add stitching to your Altenew creations.

Reminders: one random comment from all of my Altenew posts will be selected to win $15 Gift card to Altenew online store (here). So, please feel free to comment over Altenew as well . 😉

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge #409

Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge !! Thank you for joining us for theFantastic Florals Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :-)

This week the challenge is...

Anything Goes

We are using Simon Says Stamp products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some, we love to see them used :-)

For my project, I am using one the new popular large cling stamp "Elizabeth".

I know that some people may get intimidated by the size of this stamp (measures 5.75"x 5.75"). Well, it is actually a plus since you can use it in so many creative ways.

I decided to stamp on the side and let the point meet in the middle.

I did the "Emboss Resist" technique once the stamping and clear-embossed image were done. I applied all sorts of Distress Inks (see links at the end of this post).

congratulations (close-up)

Lastly, I also want to mention that it did take me a few tries to come up with a good inking with various embossing powder and composition.
Basically, what I want to say is...
Do not give up inking when you know you have a great stamp in your hand.
Just keep at it and you will be so pleased that you tried. 😊

As always, Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!
So now it's YOUR turn ! Happy Crafting !!
There are fabulous Give Aways and inspiration from fabulous designers on a daily basis over on the Simon Says Stamp Blog . If you haven't subscribed by email, you may want to do so you don't miss out.

You have until Wed. 8am Eastern Time to join in :-)
