Flower Lantern Cling Stamp

Hello friends!
How are you?
I have the pleasure of playing with this stamp "Flower Lantern Cling Stamp" and thought I would share what I made with it!

you are wonderful

This card may look rich and textured, but it is completely flat.
I really enjoy stamping images like this with Distress Oxide.
Why? With repeated stamping, you may get ink mixed and the image may appear brownish....
However, with Distress Oxide, the colors blend and they become one.

you ae wonderful #2

You may be able to see the shine from clear-embossing in the following photo.
you are wonderful #3

I also mixed the embossing paste with Cracked Pistachio. That way, the stenciled corner look more cohesive with the stamped design.
you are wonderful #$
I truly enjoy the process of making this card. Each step is gratifying and relaxing.
I hope that you are inspired to try out stamps and inks like this.

 Now, speaking of Distress Oxide....
This set is now $71.99  $57.59 ($ 14.40 in saving)
(click the photo and get them ASAP)

 Use code: RGTW7
Stock up the Distress Oxide if you have not done so (valid till June 18th)

I would appreciate you use my links to start AND finish your shopping.

Watercolor Frame --- 2 Ways or 3!

Hello friends!
It is my turn to share projects with you over Altenew Card Blog.
It's time to highlight the background stamp like  Watercolor Frame.
This stamp may look abstract, but it really is easy to use.

(all the supplies are listed at the end of this post)

                                                                     Watercolor Frame
 (shop Simon Says Stamp)

Under the Cherry Blossom
(shop Simon Say Stamp)

Card #1
This simple one layer is truly easy to create.
Once I had the idea to stamp the water-colored circle as the sun,  it takes little time to stamp.

Altenew File

I often started with the lightest shades to the darkest. This way, I find it easier to control the depth of colors and correct the shades when necessary.

Altenew File1

Like any story-telling, there is "the beginning, the middle and the end".
I like to revise that for card-making..."there is "the top, the center and the bottom". This card clearly illustrates just that.

Altenew File2

My 2nd card uses the background circle in a slightly different way.
Rather than just serving as a background, it is now a wreath/frame!
I selected a few ink colors and proceeded to stamp a simple wreath.

Altenew File3

Again, a card like this doesn't take much time.

Altenew File4

The card appears to be a bit flat after my stamping. I decided to add a small flower and popped it up. I also stamped two stripes underneath the sentiment. It looks so much more balanced, too!

Altenew File5

My take-away lesson from this card? Don't be afraid to experiment with colors. I normally would not stamp two different types of green in the same design. However, when you stamp Sea Shore and Tropical get this gorgeous and bright colors. In a way, you do get the best of BOTH worlds.
Here's a look at the three cards I created with Watercolor Frame.

Altenew File6

I truly hope that this post with simple stamping inspires you. I would very much appreciate that you leave me a comment over Altenew Card Blog. Remember that one of you will could win an $15 Altenew Gift Card every month. It is based on the comments that you made in all of my Altenew posts.
Also, the entire release of the Altenew stencils are available now.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Here are the supplies that I used for today's projects.

Build-A-Flower: Ranunculus Release + Giveaway

Hello friends!
It's that exciting time of the month...Altenew's
Build-a-Flower is here!
This time, it is the gorgeous ranunculus!

You can find this new stamp/die combo here.
All Build-a-Flower collections can be found here.

This will only be available for purchase as a set, and not individual products.
(source: Google image)
If you Google the images of ranunculus, you will see a lot of images here

For this awesome stamp and die combo, I felt like using lots of layers.
Altenew File9

I did partial die-cutting for the ranunculus and fit the entire image onto the Cherry Wood Paper. The Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder work seamlessly with and layering stamps.

Altenew File8

I also added a strip of Gold Glitter Tape from the New Day Card Kit

Altenew File10

For my 2nd card, I came up with another color combo. With Altenew Ink, you can easily color-layering the flowers simply follow the guide from the package. Since the flower is large, the lining-up part was so easy! Sometimes I stick with the same color family, sometimes I love mixing them up. The color-layering is easily the BEST part in creating!

I created a subtle blue background with a touch of ink and water.

This time I focus more on stamping. The Halftone Stencil is really handy to have for adding details.
What can I say? The Altenew layered stamps are absolutely top-notch and this set is no exception.

Be sure to visit Altenew Blog  (for more inspiration) and comment.
YOU just might be one of 3 lucky winners of $30 Altenew gift card!
